Is it safe to use NOS in an NA?

Just curious after I read a bunch of threads regarding "turbo upgrades for the NA.." Personally I would go the way of getting a Turbo II if I wanted a turbo under the hood, but hey whatever floats your boat. My question here is "do any of you run NOS in an NA Rx7"???

I really havnt seen any threads regarding using NOS, and was wondering why? Is it because its too dangerous for the Rotary engine? It would be pretty nice to have an extra 75 horses on tap for a pretty damn price tag..

Let me know what you think

Yes, you can use it, just make sure to know what kind of system to get.
Once again www.fc3s.org has a few writeups on both wet and dry systems in RX-7's (second gens hence the FC3S), and I think he uses a 75 shot, I forget though. Good luck, try to keep it safe :\

I would say if done right NOS is safer in a rotary than a piston engine. There is less to mess up in a rotary. That is if its done right. (And I know NOS is a brand )

Yes, it is NITROUS not NOS. Just like you COPY a piece of paper you don't XEROX it. Pet peave of mine I guess, seems the fast and furious seems to diluted everyones vocab.

I hate when people say NOS instead of nitrous, nitrous oxide, N2O or whatever.
Unless referring to the brand of system.

Generally the wet systems are more safe right? What do you think would be a good shot 75?? I doubt I would need anything higher then 75

Also , what about purging.. Is it really necessary when using only a 75 shot?

Let me know

thanks

And to make you happy I will now say "Nitrous"

everyone has always said NOS, and now that F&F comes around people blame it on the movie, oh well, to me it means Nitrous Oxide System, whether is be the company Nitrous Oxide System's or (A) Nitrous Oxide System, i would think it would work better in a rotary also, and the turbo rather than a turbo under an n/a hood thing, N/A's are ~200-300lbs lighet than the T2, so you make the call

Yeah , im thinking of going the NA way, doing a few modifications here and there (more restoring then anything) ...

And just adding a nitrous , that way when I need speed, hey its there.

I was thinking of going towards a Talon/MkIII supra, but you know what, I want a 2 seater car (its been a dream of mine)

After a good serch......

I finaly settled on NOS System 5132. This is a wet system they do recommend 5123 a dry system for N/A's but the more I read it seems the wet system is a more compete upgrade. It works great, and was easy to install. Will upgrade fuel pump this summer but so far after many full throttle runs, have not notices a need but we all know the stock pump is crap.

good NOSing to you

Oh yeah I started of low as NOS recommends, mine is set at 60 and that is kick in your *** difference over stock. 75 seems, well I dont now if I'm ready for 75
