89 vert advice

Hey, I have owned my 3rd gen for over a year and have been looking for a 2nd gen for a while now. I think that I have found one. Tell me what you guys think. It is an 89 vert black exterior. The paint is about a 5-6 out of 10. The top needs replaced. The interior is 9 out of 10. Has the BBS wheels. The engine is blown but he is including a good engine with 90,000 miles on it. The chassis has 94,000 miles on it. He said it has been sitting in his driveway for about 1.5 years. Since he is a good friend of my uncle he said I could have it all for $2,000. What do you guys think?

idk, verts are the slowest of the 7's but if you throw a turbo on it itll be good. btw hows the interior? what color? whats the compression of the good engine? if everything else is good then go for it. wait hw about dents? any of em, how big and where?

That is a little high..... $1500 max. I picked this S4 Vert up about the same condition as yours for $450 with TONS OF PARTS including a newer top and Turbo stuff.... BUT the reality is if you feel it is a good price then buy it. These cars are worth more in "sentimental" value then KBB could ever know..

I know that they are slow, but I have a FD with a GT42R so thats my fast car. Anyway I want a vert. The car is triple black. The front driver side fender needs replaced because of a huge dent. Again the interior is damn near perfect but the exterior has seen better days, especially the top.
Thanks for all of the replys.

Slow is relative, they really were not that bad for the time-slap on a nice exhaust and intake, response is good, handling is excellent, hard to beat on a nice day on a winding road.....

Vert's are great cars! I'd reccomend it as long as the motor your getting with the car has good compression. If so then thats not an unreasonable price to pay.

i got my 89 vert with 9 out of 10 interior, perfect top (except the motors dont go up or down) 8 out of 10 exterior, and a motor that blew a week after for about $3000. i think mine was very worth it and its so much fun to drive with the top down. ladies love the vert. thats worth about a grand right there....lol j/k.
