Question 89+ Motor into 87 Chassis, Can I open 6ports with NO ACV?

Did a search.

Is there anyway around using an ACV but still retaining function of the 6 ports? I'm already using a RPM switch for the VDI since I'm using the 87 chassis.

I could have sworn there was some way around this using the air pump or something...but I think the ACV ties into the air pump.

The AVC can be removed but the air pump must stay. The aux port and VDI actuators take their feeds from the air pump before the AVC. Study the 89 FSM, it's all in there.

Um, you've already got one. It's called the ECU...

'87 chassis...

Just rip all that crap off and rig up a linkage and a solenoid to pop the sleeves open, and control it from that RPM switch That'll be my plan, anyway...

Yes 87 CHASSIS, wiring all 87

If I just get a new ACV will the 6 ports open okay with the 87 stuff?

And if I get a header, will the 6 ports still open?
since the 89+ system does NOT use backpressure, right?

Should be, unless he's using the 87 ECU with the 89 motor.

Yeah, but I mean if I get a header with the 89+ motor will it still be okay, is there a way to open the ports without the ACV on the 89+ engine
