Question Turbo - Make it clear, please.!

I'm an idiot when it comes to anything turbo and I'm bored so here it is: Can someone clarify or tell me what the best turbo kit/upgrade/combo/set-up/brand/etc..... for the '88 TII?? Also, what other works need to be done for best results.. I'm leaning more towards the 'daily-driver' set-up rather than the heavily modified version.. And oh yeah, $$$ is very limited for me right now so the cheaper the better, I think!. (let's say a budget of under $1.5k)

NjFC3S,

Hey just use the OEM turbo and max out the stock setup. The stock fuel system maxes before the turbo.

Series V turbo and manifold w/upgraded turbine wheel and compressor wheel.
Haltech F5 AIC
single 720cc plumbed
Profec B 9psi (low) / 13psi (high)
HKS FCD

I'd give you more info but I haven't done some of this YET. There's a local shop in West Palm Beach that runs TII's like this with excellent results. www.japtrix.com
You don't need FMIC or E6K so you're saving about 2 grand there.

ok here is the best I have came up with.

garrett t60-1 roughly $850
torbonetics wastegate delta $200
hks manafold $245
custom down pipe roughly $100 ( I hope you already have 3')
apexi afc $300
wellbro 255lph pump $100
atleast 1000cc secondary injectors $300

=$2095
so save a little more and please dyno it before even trying to take it above 3500 rpm

You would need 1000cc injectors for this? I thought 720s would be good enough. Please correct me people if I am wrong.

it depends how far you go and how big of a port. A t60-1 is a good size turbo and would need big injectors. soul assassin runs 4 1000. some people run 1600cc.

Just MAX the current setup.
10psi-12psi should let you make around 230-250 flywheel hp.
Full Exhuast, Intake, Ported wastegate, FCD, Walbro Fuel Pump with rewire. Maybe a better BOV just for a cleaner install.

Once you max the stock setup, you have to make a decision. BIG POWER ( =$$$$) or about 300-350 flywheel hp.

Yah them prices are a bit low, and how much can you do yourself..
From my own reciepts and experience
to4e 750.00
haltech 1400 with everything
walbro 125.00
injectors 180.00
intercooler 500
wastegate 450.00 and don't bother with the turbonetics ****..
blowoff valve 165.00
stainless tubular manifold? built by me 100.00
odds and sods probably 500.00.. I am doing everything on my own and build my own stuff but my price is tag is still around 4200 bucks doing it the right way.. I guess you could use the stock ecu with piggybacks to run the to4e, but you are never going to see max power or reliability...Max

Turbo's are not cheap, and all the other stuff isn't either. If I was on a limited budget and wasn't looking for a bunch of ponys, I would modify the stock setup.
