Just a head's up, you'll be told to do a search for the answers to this one. It has been answered a lot of times. There are write ups in detail of how to do it if you search. Reading them will give you a good idea what parts to have on hand and how large the scope of this project is before you get started.

From the personal experience of doing the T2 swap, just go buy a T2. Unless you find a T2 donor car and have EVERYTHING from that one car it's not easy. These T2 parts are hard to find unless you have a lot of money to spend.

I did it because I couldn't find parts to rebuild my N/A when it blew but I got a good deal on a jspec turbo engine. But then I had to find the harness and computer and a whole bunch of other parts no one seemed to have. It's been a year and a half or so now and I still don't have my seven running. I'm still working on finding the parts to finish the swap.

So I agree with everyone who says either buy a T2 that works or find a T2 donor car. Just my .02

Tempest is a she, LOL.

But anyway yeah, you can't turbo your N/A engine if that's what you're getting at anyway. Well, I guess you can but the one guy I read about who did it did it just to see if he could and it cost him a load of money and was a huge amount of work.

You can either swap a complete turbo engine in there or you can get a TII. I still vote for getting a TII. If I lived in the states and had more decent shape cars to pick from I would simply toss the seven I have now in the backyard for parts and buy a TII. This swap has been a thorn in my side. But, if you like answering everyone who asks what you're doing tonight, this weekend, all summer, with working on the seven than it's a good project for you. Not that you don't get to answer that way most of the time anyway...

ahem.....excuse me then.....

it took me 3 days to uninstall everything from my old TII down to the frame and 8 days (weekends......8 hr days) to do my swap....... but remember I had EVERYTHING I NEEDED.....spent 700 bux on my GTUs shell and 700 bux in tools and misc. parts.

(Edit...This is not the Lounge. Keep the leghumping to yourself. Thanks.)

it would not be cost effective UNLESS you have a COMPPLETE DONOR car..........and the full TII package includes motor, tranny, ecu, driveshaft, differential, halfshafts, ( you should also do TII brakes) and all the TII sensors.

I just rebuilt my S4 n/a block for my turboed n/a and just got it running a day or two ago. Its faster thatn the stock Tii but can't run really high boost even though you don't really need too.
