hello all

Im in the {long} process of restoring my 88 turbo. Im looking at the radio now.
It doesnt have one, I pulled the old, non stock one out. I want to replace it with the original one that came with the car. I cant tell if the car came with the cassette or the upgrade cd.

Is there any way to tell, maybe a special coor coded wire added,etc. ?

I know the cd one had a seperate amp that fit on the right side of the radio, nestled in there. I just cant see anything that would tell me either way.
I know there are some audio guys out there.. one of which Im not...

any info is appreciated..
oh, the car has cloth seats too, maybe only leather seats and cd weer combined?

 

I have the cd/cassette from a 88 vert and you are welcome to have it if you will pay for shipping and packaging, Their is a company that restores them to good working condition, I have seen their website just dont remember the name. As far as I know it was working ok when it was removed. if you need it let me know

 

yeah im interested, this is something i definately didnt expect.

I have no problem purchasing the cd radio, but I would need the face, or the part of the cd radio that shows in the dash to be in like new or mint condition, not faded or scratched.

This is a cool car and I want it all to match. If the cd radio does/doesnt work, as you possibly mentioned, that is not so important. anything can be fixed.
