88 T2 Turbo & manifold gaskets ?'s

I have a leak around my Turbo and I am not getting full boost. I suspect I need to replace a gasket around there. Any idea's if it might be the Turbo gasket or the manifold? I can hear kind of a ticking exhaust leak. Where is the best place to buy and how much do they go for? Thanks much...I need full BOOST!

The only way is to pull stuff off and find out. First pull off the DP and see what that gasket looks like. Then remove the turbo from the manifold if the DP gasket was ok. If that one is ok, then you know you need a manifold gasket, and they are expensive! Try checking with you local Mazda dealer for baseline prices, then check with Mazdatrix or Van-Go Racing.

Thanks much dave! I know its not the gasket off the DP, as I just put on the Bonez last week and it wa sfine. I do need to dig deeper, Do you think I should but both gaskets and then see what one needs replacing? Then return the one I don't need?
(Thanks for your help! (answering from my biz computer now)

87-88 TUrbos and manifolds are prone to cracking. When i pulled my old TURBO and manifold off my 87 it had some noticeable cracks. I was having boost problems aswell. You might want to consider pulling the turbo and manifold to see if that's the one causing the problem.

Was the boost problem there before or after the Bonez DP was installed?

If before, then dig deeper. Pull the turbo and manifold and then you can inspect the manifold and the turbo itself for cracks and gasket condition.

Yes, It was there before my Bonez MP. Removing the main cat helped free up some boost, just not fix the problem. Same thing when I put on the Bonez DP. I wondered if it was leaking from there, nope, although it helped provide more boost. Yep its deeper! I will get the gaskets and see if I can get this fixed. Thanks much for your help!

If you need a manifold to turbo gasket I have an extra that I never needed. I paid $36 for it from Mazdatrix plus shipping. Email me if you're interested and I'll cut you a deal.
