Would you describe exactly what you're talking about? Just saying it cut out isn't enough info for anyone to help.

I know this is a dumb question but, ABS? More stats on the car.

Are you just starting to drift or is this a new development? (Hopefully you're being safe.)

when does it happen? drifting left or right? after all, when you drift gravity does work, and the gas tends to go all to one side of the tank.
check out the whole fuel system
pump
lines
pulsation dampner
injectors
... is your gas cap on ?

yeah cluth slipping would be like power being cut... but the engine would still rev, and if he was smoking the clutch... he'd get some smoke and a bad stink inside the car

check the sock inside the pump, and make sure your tank isn't full of rust...this sounds like a similar problem we had with our race car....the sock would get clogged up and cause starvation

the fuel pump access is under the carpet in the rear hatch on the drivers side of the car. its an aluminum piece with wires going into it. take the cover off then take the cover off the tank and lift the pump out. the sock will be on the pump. if you do want to drain your tank and try to clean it out, there is a bolt under the car on the pass side on the tank to drain it.

Is it during all kinds of initiations or during only one kind? My friend had a similar problem but only when he clutch kicked or used other abrupt means of initiation. It turned out to be a bad ground for something in the ignition or injectors i think.

There is a baffle inside the fuel tank in which the fuel pump assembly sits. If this baffle has detached itself and is now rattling around in the tank, the pump will be starved for fuel when the car turns (fuel sloshes to the other side of the tank).

Also, it would be very helpful if you could type in proper complete sentences with capitalization and correct spelling. It can be hard to understand what someone is saying when you can barely read what they are typing.

My votes on the fuel sock. I keep having problems with this myself. You need to replace the sock, and check the level of rust in the gas tank. If theres too much rust, and you replace the fuel sock, it will work fine for a month, or two, and then your problem will come back.

Anybody know how much mazda wants for a gas tank?
