BoostedRex 04-12-06 12:58 PM

Would you describe exactly what you're talking about? Just saying it cut out isn't enough info for anyone to help.

stevenx788 04-12-06 01:01 PM

no power no more eccel and it takes a second to kick power back in and its like a drift governer or something as soon as i get into a drift i will steadly be on gas but it just cuts out man i dont know its weird

stevenx788 04-12-06 01:02 PM

maybe a fuel shut off swith is triped or somthing

classicauto 04-12-06 01:03 PM

info on the car?

is it low on fuel? could be starvation.....

stevenx788 04-12-06 01:07 PM

no i will have full tank and i just replaced fuel filter

Goofy 04-12-06 01:09 PM

I know this is a dumb question but, ABS? More stats on the car.

Are you just starting to drift or is this a new development? (Hopefully you're being safe.)

mycarisolderthanme 04-12-06 01:16 PM

Yes, its the drift governor. Unplug it.

:rlaugh:

mycarisolderthanme 04-12-06 01:17 PM

But really, is your clutch slipping? Is it possible you have no idea what your doing?

1987_Gxl 04-12-06 01:18 PM

when does it happen? drifting left or right? after all, when you drift gravity does work, and the gas tends to go all to one side of the tank.
check out the whole fuel system
pump
lines
pulsation dampner
injectors
... is your gas cap on ?

1987_Gxl 04-12-06 01:19 PM

yeah cluth slipping would be like power being cut... but the engine would still rev, and if he was smoking the clutch... he'd get some smoke and a bad stink inside the car

stevenx788 04-12-06 01:29 PM

no clutch slip and yes my gas cap is on and yes i know what i am doing god you guys are hateful my car does it both ways and when it happens the rpms go down to zero and after they reach zero thats when i get power agian

stevenx788 04-12-06 01:31 PM

i will check my fuel line in the tank maybe thats what it is

1987_Gxl 04-12-06 01:35 PM

hateful? were just asking questions to get a better idea of whats possibly to blame.
seems like its loosing fuel pressure somewhere

stevenx788 04-12-06 01:36 PM

where is the drift plug govener located lol i was using as ex.

stevenx788 04-12-06 01:37 PM

what would that be caused by

easymmkay240sx 04-12-06 01:38 PM

check the sock inside the pump, and make sure your tank isn't full of rust...this sounds like a similar problem we had with our race car....the sock would get clogged up and cause starvation

stevenx788 04-12-06 01:43 PM

ok thanks and presh i will check now

stevenx788 04-12-06 01:59 PM

i cant figure out where its located isnt it suposed to be in drvers side storage bin?

stevensimon 04-12-06 02:06 PM

the fuel pump access is under the carpet in the rear hatch on the drivers side of the car. its an aluminum piece with wires going into it. take the cover off then take the cover off the tank and lift the pump out. the sock will be on the pump. if you do want to drain your tank and try to clean it out, there is a bolt under the car on the pass side on the tank to drain it.

stevenx788 04-12-06 02:48 PM

thank you sir i presh

Weed Wacker 04-12-06 03:14 PM

Is it during all kinds of initiations or during only one kind? My friend had a similar problem but only when he clutch kicked or used other abrupt means of initiation. It turned out to be a bad ground for something in the ignition or injectors i think.

stevenx788 04-12-06 03:35 PM

allright it happens after i pop the clutch it will start spinning the tires and i will get into a drift and it will almost like stall. I took the info and found the fuell pump and all that but im going to mess with that when my gas get lower i just filled up my tank.

Aaron Cake 04-12-06 03:49 PM

There is a baffle inside the fuel tank in which the fuel pump assembly sits. If this baffle has detached itself and is now rattling around in the tank, the pump will be starved for fuel when the car turns (fuel sloshes to the other side of the tank).

Also, it would be very helpful if you could type in proper complete sentences with capitalization and correct spelling. It can be hard to understand what someone is saying when you can barely read what they are typing.

reatrdedspleen 04-12-06 04:00 PM

My votes on the fuel sock. I keep having problems with this myself. You need to replace the sock, and check the level of rust in the gas tank. If theres too much rust, and you replace the fuel sock, it will work fine for a month, or two, and then your problem will come back.

Anybody know how much mazda wants for a gas tank?
