87 TurboII overboosting/rear end knocking
I just got an 87 Turbo II and for some reason it is boosting stock around 10 psi... which isnt so bad except for that its constantly hitting fuel cut. (Which i will be sending my ecu out to get reprogrammed). Could this be a wastegate problem?? If not what else can it be? Also, there is a knocking sound around my rear end, which i believe is my rear diff. mount... anyone hear of this/ can help me.
Thanks

do you have catalytic converters? sure there's not a boost controller in there somewhere? and you are completely stock?
as for the diff mount, if it is only when you get on and off the gas, then that's probably it. it's a bitch to replace. have fun.

i havent really gotten under it to check for cats, but im assuming it does.... where else would a boost controller be.... i followed all of the lines connecting to the turbo, and i came up with nothing. no its not stock... as far as i know (unless the guy lied which is possible) there are upgraded injectors/fuel pump, street ported, custom exhaust (have to check for cats), and an intake (not sure what brand).... the guy says it runs around 12.5 when there wasnt a problem w/ fuel cut ( i think he had a fcd)
Thanks
Thanks
