sounds a bit on the expensive side. is it 70k on a new engine or a rebuild. take off the tid and check the turbo for shaft play. get a hold of a compression tester and do a compression test. other than that just make sure to do a real thorough inspection and ask alot of questions about everything

Ok, i bought the car and everything seems fine. Turbo kicks in at around 4k rpms and its all smiles from there, the engine was clean but I am sure they gave it a bath. The interior is clean has a sunroof and everything works, gauges, lights, etc. It came with a cat-back system and a cone filter on the intake. Its really fun to drive and it sounds so sweet when the turbo winds up and takes a breath when you shift. All in all I am happy and I cant wait to do some mods. I am thinkin a turbo kit that includes all the goodies, if any one would like to recommend some upgrades or advice I would appreciate it.

Sounds like you got a decent car.
Before you start in on that turbo kit, you might want to do a good overhall first.
new coolant
new tranny fluid
new LSD fluid
new plugs
new belts
etc etc.
unless the car came with some records stating that this has been done recently.
Also, you should still do a compression check, just to get an idea of how strong your engine is...

Thats in the works, LSD fluid? Looking for a place were I can order the shop manual. I was looking up torbos and the most recommended seems to be the TD06SH, I found a kit that includes manifold wastegate and other hardware for $2600. Anyone use this turbo before, I want streetability.
Thanks again

A turbo upgragde will mean a lot of other upgrades as well: injectors, some form of fuel controll, fuel pump just to name a few.
People with FC's generally upgrade to either a S5 turbo, a TO4/S5 hybrid, or a full 60-1 compressor either with a T04B or T04E housing.
Others I have seen used are T04E "60" Trim and KKK tubos (which I have)...

you gotta slow down, ur rushing into moding the car so fast. get used to it, and make sure the engine can handle that kind of power. the stock turbo is pretty good. u should upgrade other things besides the turbo, thats one of the last things u should worry about. its not as easy as jus slaping a turbo on and YEP ur done
put some miles on it, and buy small mods and make sure the car is running good. that car is pretty quick already, so just take it slow.

We all know the blue book is exactly accurate on the price of these cars. I paid too much for mine too, but it was worth every penny to me. I have yet to see another TII in my area woth getting, so mine was the right price at the right time.
And I've got to agree with rx7raca. Do some more minor stuff, like get a dp after you've done the mainenance. I'm very impressed with the stock turbo so far on my car. That thing is huge compared to the 14b that's in my Talon.

Thanks, I am starting to get a feeling on how to start moding the car. I went for a nice drive yesterday and realized it does start to spool up a little after 3K, everything else seems cool for now.
