Well I got the driveshaft in yesterday and managed to get the transmission partially filled with gear oil. I bought one wrong bottle of gear oil so I didn't have enough to fill it all the way. I'll be buying a pump gun thing too while I'm at the store, no more squeezing the bottle of Lucas thought a fuel line tube for me.

The washed car. I also power washed the underside as well, I'm gonna wire wheel the one little spot of rust and primer over it this weekend.

Here's the new rear end, 50K miles on it for $100, not bad. I'm going to switch the mazdatrix competition bushings over from my current diff to this one when it's swapped in.

I'll post as it progresses.

You have a TCSportline rear strut bar? I'm selling mine because I'm going with a roll cage.

Today

No I don't have the rear. How much would you need shipped to 07821? I'd pick it up for a good deal but I didn't really think I needed it right now. Let me know, pm me.

I got a chance to get new bolts and a gasket for the exhaust today, I hooked that up and it's a lot better with the mufflers on. The exhaust is nothing special, just the Racing Beat downpipe and some 3" straight pipe with dual cans. It'll do till the full RB Rev II system is purchased.

I also got the Autometer boost gauge working by switching the vacuum source to a different nipple on the TB. All good now, pulling good vacuum at idle.

Now I have to put the sport spoiler on. Has anyone done this and have any helpful tips, hints or tricks??

Thanks guys!!

No, I never specified what make they were because I don't know, they're some ebay brand probably. They work for now but I will be replacing them soon.

I forgot to mention that I finalized the idle, I adjusted the TPS once fully warmed, and loosened the throttle cable a bit. Rock solid 750 idle now, very smooth, I like it a lot.

I still have to replace the lower ball joints, springs, and some other minor things. I'll keep posting as it progresses.

Impressions Of A Test Drive

Before you watch the video, I must say I'm really just learning to drive stick and I did managed to stall it Second the rear end is still whining and the exhaust seems to be rattling some. Other than that enjoy!!

First Test Drive-

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pBO9nlteB9E

So it works, kinda hard to tell cause I suck at driving so much but it seems to be pretty good overall. She runs well, nice solid 6 lbs boost when going easy on her. Only stock boost for now till I get used to the car, we'll add a boost controller later and make use of the Rtek7's fuel and timing correction.

There seems to be some slop in the rear end of the car, probably due to the damage that causes that whining noise. I'll be getting a new TII diff once I get the refund for the diff I just bought that turned out to be for an NA.

The new J spec trans is tons better than my old one but, it is still hard to get into certain gears at times. The short shifter is sweet but I have to get better at using it. Also what should I be doing to break in the new clutch and pressure plate?

I would really like some tips on driving stick. I can do it but I have a hard time with starting on a hill, even a slight incline makes it harder for me. I can start on a hill on a dirtbike or quad, I understand how a clutch works but I have a hard time doing it in a car on a hill. I am really just learning to drive stick so please share some knowledge with a 5spd noob.

way to go man! looks like you're running a little lean though. oh yea..... and as for the clutch, I've got a twin plate w/ a light flywheel.... that thing is like a light switch!!!! It was a bitch getting that clutch down, I still have trouble with it on hills. The e-brake is your friend in these situations, engage it until you feel comfortable that you have it in gear and are rolling, then slowly release to go!

Question, what happens when you have to inspect it. Is it gonna pass emissions since you removed everything?
