87' Gxl

I'm looking to buy my first car, and I was looking at an 87' GXL w/ 60,000 miles on engine and 120,000 miles on rest of car. It has an upgraded Kenwood radio in it, new front wheel bearings, fairly new tires, new rear shocks, new front bumper and drivers side fender, new facia on the interior around radio, and was maintained well. I know the owner right now, and he is the second owner, the first was a 60 year old doctor. Anyways, what do you think of this as a first car and what are some things to look out for, besides the flooding problem. Thanks.

IF you're not looking to do many mods to the car, and just wanna keep it as a nice daily driver, then go for it. If on the other hand, you either want to make your car really freaking fast and/or you are a glutton for punishment and want to do a TII swap, then buy it and start saving. I have an '87 GXL and it's a bulletproof car. Just not really as fast as I want it to be.
