Exclamation 86 rx7 trouble!

i took my car to get a gasket replaced(behind the water pump). when i got the car back, the car has rough idling and shakes alot. i found a unplug wire behind the alternator( re-connected it). i also found that 1 or 2 sparkplug wires were placed wrong( i think i put back the right way). and the mechanic mentioned something about vacuum hoses were not being used. Well, the mechanic fixed the oil leak, but now i'm having trouble starting my car and the other stuff i mentioned earlier. Does anyone have any sugestions that i can do to fix my rx7 myself instead of taking it to the mechanic again. HELP. P.S. before i took the rx7, it was running beautifully, it's a remanufactured 13B with only 3,000 + miles on it.

If you have vacuum hoses that are "not being used" make sure they are plugged up or plugged in to where they should be plugged in. Otherwise if you have open vacuum hoses. you will almost certainly have a vacuum leak that will definitely make the car run rough, if it will run at all.

I sure will try it. I checked the spark plug wires and they work fine, but I haven't checked the spark plugs to see if they need replacing. Well, I'll let you know what happens. Thanks.

the car starts, but it floods prior to starting. at which time i need to clamp the fuel line so it can start. once it starts it runs rough and shakes bad. i'm not sure what hoses to look for, but i'll compare the hoses set up from my 88 rx7 to the 86 rx7. I'll give it a try, thanks. I'll let you know what happens.
