75 psi

ok did a compression test on my car at school and i got 75 in the front and 85 in the rear??? wtf. my engine only has like 21k on it. i dont even run it hard, wtf..im sooo pissed its a mazda reman. but the car runs good it puffs like one small *** cloud of whit smoke after starting cold and thats it. help and also i moved the crank sensor thinkin i would be cool and it didnt nothin.

Well, to start with, did you test it with a fully charged battery? That is key. THose numbers sound really low to me.

you also have to test at WIDE OPEN THROTTLE. if it's a mazda reman with 21k on it, chances are you tested it wrong somehow because those seem too low.

HOW did you do the compression test???
You're supposed to prop the throttle wide open.
You're also supposed to remove BOTH trailing spark plugs to do this test correctly.
Did you do that?
If not, the numbers are going to be lower.

yep did all that the batt was charged bec i drove the car in and it got a chance to warm up 2

yea maybe u should try again i just did mine and it did a 95@114k....although i think the engine was rebuilt without the last owner knowing..(last owner didnt drive it but only a few miles) and i dunno if i have a good battery or not..lol(must be good enough to hit those numbers?)

so yea do it again and check back with us...let us know wats up (at least i know i wanna know what happened)

tomm i will check it again. im like sweetin bullits. i gotta drive like 60 miles a day but that wouldent kill a new motor.

I ran my TII for a year with 85-95 compression (front/rear) on a 145k mi. stock motor...

You shouldn't worry, the motor's probably going to last you quite a while still.
