I have two problems... first, since I rehooked the air pump, after theRPMs reach a little over 2 grand you can hear the what sounds like a high pitch howling sound when the ports are opening... I watched to make sure that they are opening and I think they are cause I can see the little lever thing moving...

Second problem... while cleaning my throttle body w/ carb cleaner, I saw that the bottom plate on the throttle body, the point of the triangle, was smaller than it looks it should be and if you look through it you can see light all around the edges... could that be causing my high idle???

Oh, and one more for the road... I used carb/ choke cleaner to do it and my car has been idling strange since... could the carb cleaner cause it to do this?

 

The ports don't open until 3.5-4k RPM.

Leaks in the throttle body will cause abnormal idle
