Angry 4k RPM

My car won't pass 4k RPM. Non-turbo 13b. I think my fuel pump doesn't want to send fuel anymore. Or my Injectors tell my fuel pump It's worthless and they don't get paid enough. It sounds like it's just blowing air in the Housings. anyone got any suggestions?

Your 5th and 6th ports might be stuck.

My grounds are good. I check them all the time. and my 5th and 6th ports are wired open. And it's not so much a hesitation, as it won't let me even pass 4k. It stops at 4k, IF, and I say IF it goes passed 4k it doesn't do anything. nothing at all, just gets louder.

Have you checked your cats (if you have any)?

This is simple, your sec injectors are not firing.

I had mine disconnected for a while and mine did the same thing.

If you stomp on the gas then it gets to 4k and then bounces like a rev limter right? and if you hold the gas in just a little bit it will slowly go past it?

If so then your sec injectors are not working. I would check the connection to them first.

S5 MOTOR? check for an engine light, if so pull the code, could be limp mode from OMP FAILURE. it also has an effect on your throttle, if you press past ~30% throttle it kills the engine also.

If it is a S5 (89-91) your VDI might be stuck closed or in limp mode (check engine light)

your timing could be off. even if your secondary injectors didn't work it should go to at least 6K full throttle before you run lean enough hesitate.

The S5 limp mode is a possiblilty.

About the secondary injectors, ummm, no.

At WOT it gets to 4k rpm then bounces like a fuel cut rev limter. It will not go past 4000rpm at WOT. Now if you give it just a little gas you can coaks it past but not a chance at WOT.

Trust me, I didn't have secondary injectors for 2 weeks.

when I was trying to figure out why mine fell on its face at 4k I wired open the VDI and 5pi to see if that would fix it and it did. After that for fun I unplugged the secondary injectors and went for a drive. It was so freaking fast until it hit 6K like a brick wall.

Do you have an S5?

Because I can take a video of my S4 with them unplugged with it hitting 4k and then not going any further at all.

I was also surprised it would not go any higher but it wouldn't.

yeah it was a s5. maybe the problem also has something to do with that common 3.8K hesitation.

Might be but as far as i know the 3800rpm lag is due to the sec injectors not kicking in when they should.

Yep, your DEI system has failed. That's why when we generally say "Check your grounds" generally those fall off before the injectors cease up... They're not too expensive for a pair anyway.

He has a series four, that he was putting a series five intake on. I only found out the series by wasting time doing a search for doofy421. The doofy should have said what series car.

I'd say it's a boogered up manifold swap. Not Limp mode for sure. Boogered up manifold swap out.

Something happens to my car when ever I let it sit too long on idle... It wont go pass 3k in neutral, or 2k in gear. After awhile it return to normal- HERE IS MY QUESTION:
WOULD THAT A FUEL PROBLEM (too much or too little) OR IS IT GOING INTO LIMP MODE FOR SOME ODD REASON? (ITS A REBUILT ENGINE, SOMETIMES IT FLOODS<-- WILL THAT BE MY ANSWER, I'VE NEVER HEARD THAT PROBLEM)
