4 point harness

Ok this one i take seriousy as it affects safety. I have or have had a Momo 4 point harness and would like to know where would be the best place to install it. This is going on a series 5 RX7. I'm not looking for the quick install, rather a safe hardenned location. In case something would happen. I don't want a spinal compression or anything related, because i installed this piece of equipment wrong. Thanks. If it matters i have corbeau Targa RS seats.

Just making sure, you've already installed a rollbar, correct? If not, you should get one and install them at the same time so everything fits correctly. If either are askew or get in the way, reinstalling always sucks

the two side belts can mount using the bolts and mounting positions for the factory seat belt buckle and the foot of the main belt, the shoulder straps can wrap around the rollcage bar which goes between the two rear strut towers....... opps you dont have one of those do you :P

if you do not have at least a roll bar in the car return the harness. if the car was to roll over with you strapped into the seat your head and spine now becomes the roll over protection. OEM belts give you the ability to slide to the center of the car in a roll over thus preventing you from serious injury. If you have the roll bar then follow the manufacturers instructions and make sure all the belts are mounted correctly. you may need to drill some holes or weld some reinforcement to the floor. be careful and make sure it is right.

.

Ok so install it to the Roll bar, which sucks because i don't have a cage right now. What about the rear strut tower brace. One of those is on it's way. I'm eventually getting a cage. But not till next year. So for now, should i install it to the rear strut bar? Another option was that i removed the 2+2 seats and have available the original holes for the back seat belts. What about that? Is the angle too low? I figured since the back seat belts went there then the frame should be reinforced well enough. I just hate sliding around my seat, while i'm Autocrossing.

If you truly are serious about saftey DO NOT install the harness. Especially since you are autocrossing. There is a very real possibility that you could flip your car autoXing. It's rare, but it happens...

P.S. It took me a while to dig it up, but thanks Paul for originally posting this here!
