Don't eat them quite yet. Just the 4.30 ring and pinion set is nearly $500, not including labor. The whole rear end is going to be more expensive if bought new, and good luck finding a used 4.30 rear in the junk yard because the GTUs was the most rare RX-7 sold in the US.

No, that would be wrong... almost no FCs came with the 4.3 even in Japan or Europe or Australia.

Even the dedicated models for Australia and Japan... almost none came with the 4.3 and most came with the normal 4.1 (or 3.9 if it was an auto tranny).

This is backed up by my collection of Mazda brochures from all over the world.

North America was the only place you couldn't get a Turbo automatic:

Anyone know the Ring and Pinion part number for the Turbo Automatic? I really need the 3.90 R&P for my Turbo II rear.

Thanks!

I've searched on LSD's and please correct me because I'm very unsure of the topic.

To use a TII LSD you have to have a TII housing...
To use a N/A LSD you have to have a N/A housing...

Now check this page out {http://rx7.com/store/rx7/fcdrivetrain_rearend.html}

My understanding is the LSD from this company raises the final drive gear ratio from 4.1 to 4.3 and they have one for either TII or N/A....correct?

A LSD has no effect on the gearing. A Turbo has a 8" ring gear while a N/A uses a 7" gear, so all the internals and housings for T2s and N/As are different, as well as the LSD.

To change gearing, you need a different ring and pinion.
