3rd gen tranny in T2?
I know the the T2 tranny is a good piece but the time it takes to shift is forever compared to a say... Integra. So would a 3rd gen tranny fit in a T2?
Just pondering while I was driving in my pos 91 Mirage.

They're the same except for 5th gear I thought. Well mounts too.
The 3rd gen has a heavy shifter. I don't know if the 2nd gen has a heavy one or not. But like I said, that could make a big difference.
Plus a short shifter, it could practically shift itself, or make it much easier.
Maybe put something heavy on your shifter to see if you like the feel.

To clarify a little on the clutch, the FD uses a pull-type pressure plate, while the FC uses a push type. The pull type is INFERIOR as higher power levels compared to the puch type. So the FC tranny is better for high hp applications, and everything else than the FD tranny. The only thing the FD tranny has going for it is the Powerplant frame, which you cant use on anything but an FD anyways(possibly a Miata).

We had a 3rd gen tranny on 2nd gen engine. All you need to do is move the mount and have the drive shaft fitted. The 3rd gen is better plus the clutch system is not the same as 1st and 2nd gen so it would be a nice swap.
