3800 rpm brick wall, hook me up

If you've followed the ordeal with my car you know part of whats going on. Anyways, I got it out of there tonight and when I hit 3800 RPM's I hit a brick wall. It's not even hesitation, it is a complete loss of power. I can't find a vac leak, and it's just like my secondary injectors are not turning on. Need a suggestion here

Read your secondaries out at the ECU, that way you'll know for sure if they are coming on line or not (the voltage will drop as soon as they kick in)...

Check for clogged cat(s)?

All new exhaust, injectors were cleaned very recently, and this did not happen 2 weeks ago when I dropped the car off. It just started happening tonight out of nowhere.

Yeah, check the secondaries electrically, and read your rear rotor housing ground from the ECU while you're down there (3 different pins go to that spot)...

Just because you cleaned your secondaries doesn't mean they work right. I just got my secondaries cleaned which had 122k miles on them. The cleaning really didn't do much according to their numbers. I don't think injectors get as dirty as people think.

Do what Wayne said. Check to make sure the connectors are on tight. I'm not sure, but can you test the voltage at the connector to see if it's actually getting juice?

Hey thats a pretty blatant staement there, just because you had no difference probably mean yours were ok to begin with.

A professional cleaning or a replacement will do wonders for 17 year old injectors in almost all cases. Gas is dirty stuff after all these years for a ton of reasons(dirty rusty tank lines filters etc etc)

I just wouldnt want people to get the wrong idea from your experience.

I had a hot start problem on my car this summer and finally tore her down to get the injectors cleaned. DAM were they gummed up not to mention the condition of the grommets pintle caps O rins etc. Long story short has restored my engine to health, no 3800 hesitation no hot start problems and I am getting over 50 miles more per tank all from an injector cleaning.

Am glad to hear yours were fine tho

Well like I said, the car was running in tip-top shape 2 weeks ago before it sat in this hell hole shop. Magically when I take it out of there tonight, I lose all power at 3800 RPMS. I am assuming it has to wiring in the injectors that got knocked loose, god only knows how. Another fun project for me this weekend though.

Assuming I get no voltage at the ECU, I can guess that there is no power going to the injectors. Am I going to have to trace the wiring all over the damn place to find the short, clean the connecting pins, or what? I just need to figure out how much time to budget for this.

That's the beauty of checking the voltage "input" at the ECU while running- it checks everything, including the ground, the main relay, all wiring through the connectors, the injector itself (coil)... Bam, you just checked the entire electrical circuit with taking anything apart Even the ECU internals, which you'll know are working if you get a voltage drop (the ECU switching the ground off & on)...

Secondaries will be easier to troubleshoot, if you get no power at the ECU. Pull the connector(s) off of the "bad" injector, and read the black/yellow wire at the pin for voltage to ground. If you have juice there, it's either the connector, or the wiring run to the ECU. If you don't have juice, you probably have a bad solder joint in the harness where the main relay feed splits into 4 for the injectors (in the harness near the oil filler tube, from what I hear)...
