Angry 3800 help! Please

I have a 87 T2 and wow........this is hell. I purchased the car off of my brother with 73k miles a few months or so ago. He had problems with the car running right. It had the "typical" 3800 rpm hesitation. I have done lots of reading about RX-7's and I dont think there is any other car I would rather have then the one I presently do. I live in central Pennsylvania and I have taken my car to the closest 4 Mazda dealerships. (some as far away as 200 miles) Every time I take it to these garages I seem to end up spending hundreds of dollars for my car not to get fixed. With all the research I have been doing on this subject I believe my problem is in the secondary injectors...all have been flow checked. I also took it to a local electrical shop to have the grounds checked. Everything seemed fine. My car has a Racing Beat Turbo back exhaust and fuel cut defensor. For some weird reason I dont have an air pump and thats all that is done to it. I have been trying to make contact with the closest Rotary shop around (KD Rotary, in Nazereth Pa) but they never seem to return my calls.......HELP ME PLEASE Bobby Mannino

well most people would probably tell you to clean all your grounds to the cpu and probably just be good to clean ALL your grounds and that has a big tendency of clearing up the 3800rpm hesitation.

Is this the only thing that the problem could be....this is driving me crazy. By the end of all this I am going to be broke and wont have no more money to invest in my car . Also why is my air pump removed?

When this happened to me it was because the injector kept coming unplugged. The plastic plug had cracked and kept vibrating its way off the injector. Finally ended up that I was having some other work done on my car and the guy just used some kind of glue to stick it back on. I don't know if it will ever come off now, but it worked.

just out of curiosity, you said you didn't have an air pump. do you have a cat, because if you do it may be clogged from running without a air pump.

just a thought

An local electrical shop will not find ground bad if the car runs. They don't know what to look for. They would just put a meter in a check, finding it to be fine.

You need to re-ground the engine. Run new larger ground wires from the engine to the body and to the battery. You may also wish to run a new ground wire to the coils and one for the ECU (not the CPU which is the body computer and someone mentioned above).

You will need to learn how to work on the car yourself. You can not trust mechanics to fix it.

just making sure that it's not a swap with a newer engine, cause i beleive the t2's (89-91) have different secondaries and their is a 3800 hestation if you don't change those injectors.... or so i heard... i guess i'll soon find out as i'm going to be doing that swap.

I happen to have the cat that came with my exhaust system. It may be clogged never thought about that! And Icemark....this is the first rotary I have had...and believe me...they are not the easiest machines to understand. For only owning the car for some months now..I am trying to get this stuff straight.. I appreciate all this everyone and if there are more suggestion, my ears are still open. Thanx

Its been a while since anyone posted. I am going to remove the cars this weekend, perhaps this will end my hesitation problems. I own a 1988 10th Anniv. Turbo II and a civic past me because of the HESITATION. BUT DONT WORRY, I caught up. I just can't believe I let that guy pass me... (stupid-stupid-stupid!) In any event, re-grounding etc. Should I just buy new wires from a local speed shop or does anyone know where I should get the new wires to re-ground?
