300hp goal?
hey guys in looking into getting in the 300hp range during the winter, im gunna be using the car for drifting and not to much daily driving, im just wondering what are some of the basics im gunna need, as of now im getting a 13bt swap and doin a v-mount intercooler, but im skeptical on which style of porting to do and if i should upgrade the turbo, and anything along those lines, any input would be great.
thanks

You dont have to go V mount (its a lot of work and expensive) Just do a front mount intercooler, stage 3 turbo, bigger injectors (which are a must) I would skip the RTek and go full standalone (thats just me) get a bigger fuel pump, 3" exhaust and very proper tuning. 300 whp is not unrealistic even in an UNported motor with a good tune and enough fuel

V mount is not necessary at all, and waay too much money with the vented hood. Get a front mount and upgrade the radiator, make sure you have the stock cooling panels, a good fan setup and you should be fine. Don't give in to the hype about it, 90% of the people that do V mounts have either drag cars or street cars that don't require it.
Not hopefully...300 is a conservative goal with this engine and can be easily acheived.

streetport with a gt35 with a smallish turbine a/r. it should build boost pretty quickly and you will have a lot more room to get more power by raising the boost. Get a FMIC or build an air2water setup (www.frozenboost.com). Since you will be drifting which will compromise airflow to your heat exchanger on an air2water setup you can add ice to your reservoir between runs if you are having some heat soak issues.

koyo rad stock turbo full three inch downpipe ypipe and twin pipes, sweet custom intake pipe, racing beat fuel cut chip 800cc or so secondaries, front mount, walbro255 aeromotive fuel pressure regulator, all block off plates, stock manifold flap wired back, stock intake ports, smoothed exhaust ports. Stock ecu. Car would hit 15 psi all day long. roughly 280 something to the wheels when i dynoed it in its prime

What I would consider wrong with the aformentioned suggestion, 'Stock Turbo, Stock ECU, 15psi.'
I totally agree with KhanartistT and dawicka2.

stock turbo @ 15psi= 300rwhp?? yea right....
the simplest/ easiest route was suggested by khan: get a BNR and supporting mods. hell i made 305whp with a hybrid that was equivalent to a stage 3 with a fmic, rtek 2.1, 680/850cc, walbro255, street port etc etc. and that was @ 10psi!!!
anyways, for only 300whp, imo its not worth it to go full standalone, nor v mount. altho v mounts are prettty bad ***

If you want to do it "right" here's some info that should help (and have it be stable)

All I was sayin is that was my setup and that it worked pretty good for a long time like that.
My stock wastegate might have had something done to it. And I never said 300 on my stock turbo. I said 280. The intake pipe was sweet i made it myself and it worked.

And about BNRs, I'm not too familiar but I think 300whp is pushing the limits of a stage 1 if its possible. I think it could be done on a stage 2 with the right tune since it has the upgraded comp cover( I think), but if your getting a stage 2 then you might as well get a stage 3, I think they are like 50 bucks more?
