Suuuuure.

I get mine up to 120 and get bored with it because it stops accelerating hard, so I can't say how fast my streeetport stock exhaust FC can do.

I have a S5 with an auto and The fastest I think I went (speedos aren't 100%) was 137mph. I backed down because I didn't realize how fast I was going. I was racing a pretty relentless Acura Legend and I noticed the speedo was closing in on 140mph and my tires are only H rated so I backed down so I wouldn't die. Its very possible in a S5 auto with 3.90 rears to do 140+.

With a stock or mildly modded engine, I highly doubt it...

It must have taken you guys a longggg time to get to 140. I have a 88 vert 62,000 miles, hks intake, full exhaust, slipping clutch. It took me a couple miles to get to 120 and it didn't get there very quick.

Getting to 110 was easy. It took me about 2 miles to get to 137mph. I'm going to test it at the salt flats this year to get a real estimate on top speed.

about 8250rpm in 4th gear. i have slightly larger diameter tires than stock so that equals a little over 140mph. and this was with the headlights up. it just doest pull once you shift into fifth tho. maybe the intake porting im doing right now will fix that. hehe

no way a stock auto s5 could get over 140. the trany sucks to much power especialy at the higher rpms. the 3.90 rear end is a pluss but slush box counters it being sefull at all. now a 3.90 in a modded s5 with a manualy trany could maybe make it to 150mph or so. i think you'd need a turbo to have any chance of pulling in 5th gear since its so damn tall on these cars.

umm, gutting wont give the car a higher top speed.... you need about 200hp to get it that fast. i call bs unless you lots-o-mods.

wrong...I've had my stock 1987 FC to a little over 130, so how could the top end be 120?

my s4 with ram air.exhaust and a few minor tweaks ran around 125 when the buzzer got too annoying.
i was side by side with my neighbor in his boxster s and im sure his speedos more accurate than mine. theres jsut no more power at that point, i dont see how you guys can get to 150.

Wow, Alot of these times are BS, and I cant believe that alot of people called BS on my top speed before. The fastest I've had my TII wth the **** I have on the car is about 7K RPMs which is nearly 170MPH..

If you read what I wrote we are in total agreement! 128-132 is the best I have ever seen on a NA 1986-1988. Topped out in 4th. I know my speedo was 3 MPH high as well.

Some people don't read posts all the way through. I said the speedo isn't 100% accurate sometimes even way off. Also it was a S5 auto which is alot better than a S4 auto. Plus 137mph is pretty reasonable so whoever keeps crying BS needs to realize most 7's are pretty hammered and can barely reach 120mph so its possible some in good condition can reach 140mph.

I've read this post ALL the way through....

Me and my buddy were in a 1988 n/a gxl with a intake, and a fairly new motor (only 40k on the motor) we got up to 120's range (I was driving) I just took a quick glance thats what the speedo said. I wasnt paying much attention to the guage being that we were killing this foxbody mustang. It only took about a mile to get up to 120 if not less distance then that. Then we were about to roll on the expressway passing the police station so I slowed down... Btw we had atleast 4 car lenghs on him when I hit 120'ish.

Some of you people saying it takes a couple miles to get up to 120/130 area are just INSANE, or your rx-7's are MISSING a TON of their power.
