280zx wheel Question

280zx wheel Question

Hello! I looked around and couldnt find an answer so I figured I would go ahead and post,
Does anyone happen to know if the 6 spoke 280zx wheels will fit and NA 4 lug base 1987 rx7?
I know their bolt patterns are the same but I couldnt find the stock offset of the 280 wheels, I looked and saw answers ranging from 0 to +15mm,
if this is true would a 14x6 with a zero offset work?

the only reason I ask is someone in my neighborhood is selling all four wheels in really good condition for $100

If the person is in your neighborhood, why don't you see if they'll let you test fit 2 of the wheels?

The hub register is important. I wouldn't run a wheel that didn't fit the hub locator correctly. Conversely, the hub locator in the wheel could be too small and won't work at all. If you know a machinist they can fix that.

Thank you guys for the feedback, the hub is 73mm so it may need rings but will fit on its own, my only concern is the 0 offset, I dont want the wheels to stick out to far, or even worse, rub against the fender. Im just really curious if a 0 offset will work with a 14x6 wheel? I would test fit the wheel but the only problem is Im still building my rx7 in a workshop about 20 miles from my house, and I dont really know the guy well enough to borrow the wheel for the day, but I may just ask anyway to see if it fits. Stock phone-dials on a 4 lug FC are like +40 aren't they?

I'd keep looking unless you want that narrow wheel hella flush look

Squared 16 or 17x8.5 or even 9" wide +35 wheel with a 245/40 tire looks about right on an FC in my opinion.

I do like seeing people setup with larger wheels, I just want something lightweight and durable though, and these 280zx wheels clock in at 12.8 lbs.and I like that theyre an old 80s wheel for my old *** car

Like I said, I do like large wheels most of the time, just not for this build. I kinda want to keep everything old school for this one

Just out of curiosity though what wheels are you running? thats pretty light for 18s, are the rpf1s?
