250hp = 13.9 ???

i've been reading and the fc and fd weight about the same ( according to the 3rd gen FAQ'S and consumer guids) so if i can manage to get about 250 to the fly can i expect to run a 14.0 to a 13.9 throught the 1/4. from what i read about the s4 it sould hook up and carry me down there.

oh and one more qustion why doesthe s4 have what is it 186 hp and the s5 have 200 is it just different boost pressure ??

compression ratio in the s4 is 8.5, s5 is 9.0. id think 250flywheel could get you 14 flat or high 13's. all youd really need to see 250flywheel is an exhaust and a few other small mods

Increased boost and higher compression are the reason for the bump in hp.

a local guy did 13.9 with the rtek 1.7 and 720 secondaries. I believe he was doing 14psi.

13.9 at 14psi? Im at a 12.9 at 7psi a mile high from sea level. What you want to do is go with an agressive street port or even better a bridge port to see a significant increases in power. An S4 with just increase boost and upgraded fuel system wont see anywhere near low 13's without the porting, but make sure whoever does it, does it right because some porting can add 40 horse where other can add 7. ya know. But I know you didnt ask anything about porting, but just a suggestion.

Mods listed in VBGarage for some suggestions.

yes, with around 250 flywheel or lets just say a little over 200rwhp like dude above me... you will reach that goal with good driving.

i've personally seen TII's run very low 13's with only 240rwhp. these cars love the dragstrip

They respond to boost better than *most* piston engines, but you also have to do more supporting mods per hp to protect the engine...

They are already 2mm... The stock apex seals really aren't that bad... More along the lines of fuel and engine management...

ahhhh yes to keep the engine from running to lean

but just out of curiosity how dificult is it to rebuild a turbo rotory engine ?? or well mainly the engine its-self i've seen kits for them online.

The turbo rotary is no different than any other 13B when it comes to rebuilding unless porting is involved, since the 85-91 N/A engines were 6-port rather than 4-port like the previous N/A 13B's, or TII engines...

The rotary is pretty simple to rebuild. There aren't many moving parts to mess with like in a piston engine. Even taking my time and using hand tools, it only took me a little over an hour to tear it down once the block was out (and thats my first time.) An experience builder can do it in a single day easily, assuming no problems arise.
If you are really curious get the rebuild videos from either atkins or rotary aviation.

the actual process of tearing one open and rebuilding isn't too bad, true. but setting the tolerances with new seals needs to be dead on. and that takes time and practice. it all depends on what yo do with the motor tho. don't be scurred, pull that **** out! haha

i ran a 13.9 on street tires, full int and a small sound system, on my S5 TII. i basicly just had . flywheel, turbo back exhaust duel.. which ways more (N1), 12psi, fd fuel pump, stock injectors, and TID... it doesnt take much to get into the 13's. well atleast for a S5
