title says it...I need some cheap tires to make sure my car drives true and I can get a set for next to nothing.

they'll probably work... they'll be a lot taller than the stock tires. If your car is lowered you might have some issues.

Stock suspension...I just don't want them to run. I think the front will be the only ones to have issues. I'm still hoping to find some 50's instead.

I run 225/50/16 all around and they are tight in the front but they don't rub. Mount one and test fit it.

50's are my goal...when it comes to buying new tires I'll be buying those specifically.

I might start with 215's, though...that seems to be a much more common width for 16" wheels. I'm going to be running 16X7 speedlines from a Lincoln LSC and already know that, with these wheels, they'll have clearance issues up front with 225's. Since I'm not going to be putting down a lot of power I might stick with 215's.

What would be the proper aspect ratio for 215's?

I run 225/50/16's on 16x7's on my FC on stock suspension and they seem to fit perfectly. I wouldn't go wider than 225 on the front but 245's seem to fit well on the rear but I wouldn't put 245's on a 7" wide rim.

Hey...everyone except eage8...are any of you even reading the thread? How about, at least, the title? Those of you running 225/50's...that's awesome...that's what I would like to do in the end but has nothing to do with this thread. 245's? Wtf?

What model is your car? The reason I ask is that I had a set of 225-50-R16s on a set of 16x8 +38 offset wheels. (I know that's not the size you're looking at, but bear with me.) This setup worked fine on my '90 GTU but rubbed very severely on my '88 GTU. Point is I think the stock springs on S4 cars with the "heavy duty" (i.e., TII-style) suspension like the '88 GTU are larger than the base springs. That could be the difference for you between fitting fine and having a rubbing issue.

wait...1sweet7...I don't think you read even the title of the thread, but the fc3spro link was helpful.

David, it'll be going on a '91 whatever the base models were at that time. I'm thinking that the 60's will be too tall up front and compound the rubbing issue, but I have a lead on some 205/55's (stock size) that will at least get me around.
