2000+ idle..how do I lower it?
I have an idle about 2000 or above and want to bring it down to about 800 or 1000. I would be real happy with 1000 even. I know stock is 750 but anything is better than 2000. Please help me bring my idle down. O ya, would an idle that high make my gas mile go down? Seems like it has.

Ya its pretty much always at 2000, sometimes it might go down to 1500. But that is very rarely. It does not move very much if any. It sits at the idle. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Me too...
I'm having a similar problem. My idle isn't nearly as high as yours, but it does sit at around 1500 and every once in a while drop down to about 1000. It's a steady idle, so I haven't been too worried about it, but, like you said, it isn't helping mileage.
Anyone have a method for trouble-shooting this?
Thanks.

Guys...you need to do two things. First check to see that the linkage physically returns to the closed position (thermowax disengaged when warm, fast idle screw disengaged when warm, throttle cable not too tight etc.). If the linkage is closed and it's still idling too high then adjust the idle speed at the bac valve or at the tb if it's an N/A.
