2 problems

1st problem...
i have a 87 t2 and the stock turbo had blown seals (smoked everywhere). I just installed another stocker and noticed one of the hot side bolts is wider then the other and short :/ so i have a fatty exhaust leak. i drove around a bit and noticed it smokes a little out the hood. the top line had started leaking onto the turbo. and when i had gotten home it started smoking out the exhaust again but why?

does the top line have a gasket?

2nd Problem...
later that night my throttle went loose all of the sudden and barely even hitting boost with WOT

how do i fix this?

Dude... you need to ask your questions better than this if you want any meaningful answers.

For your turbo, it sounds like someone broke a stud at one time and then drilled it out, re-tapped it for a larger one and went with that. You should use the same nut that came off it in the first place, and if the stud dosn't have enough threads to get a nut on than pull the stud, find one that is longer and the same thread pitch, and install that.

Top line? I honestly can only guess your trying to ask about the oil feed line or the coolent feed line... but you need to do better than that.

You throttle cable probably either broke somewhere or came off its mounting point. check the cable to make sure it is still in one piece and that it is still on its mounting points.

where did the other turbo come from? Are you sure that it was in good shape? check the shaft play in it and that will tell you. also the top oil feed line should have some kind of seal on it. if you have an exhaust leak where you are describing that MUST be fixed. and is problem your main problem. Check the shaft play and fix the stud then get back to me. and second to "Craiger" dont be a jerk. those are to kind of responses that make people not want to ask questions

there are a few ways but i have found the easiest is to just clamp some vise grips on there( since you are going to replace it any way) and just back it out. it is always easier said than done. if that doesn't work cut it off flush with the manifold drill it out and re tap it(i always end up going this route). and make sure that you get a new gasket as well. good luck let me know how it goes
