2 differend FC wiper motors for front?

There are two part numbers listed for front wiper motors by Cardone. one is for up to 7/1/87 and the other is after that. does it actually matter which one goes on the car?

I have an early model 87 but i cant seem to find anything but the later model wiper motor.

anyone have any experience with this?

The only thing I could think of is if the plug is different on one vs the other (s4 vs s5) but I don't know if that's the case and the date of '87' doesn't make a whole lot of sense as its smack dab in the middle of S4.

the connectors should all be the same, i have noticed no other differences between the 2 series either for the wiper motor.
