2,000 miles on New rebuilt strange noise.

I am having some issues with my rebuild lately...
Is it possible for an NA to detonate on wot at around 5 grand or so? this banging sound gets louder, Might be linked to a vibration. I thought maybe its my flywheel. I do not know. anythoughts. Or anyone have this happen to them?

Banging... o_O?
Does it happen only when you're driving? [As opposed to free-reving]

If it's only while you're driving.. Maybe diff mount? Driveshaft?

I assume you properly broke this engine in... Right?

Can you post a video or something? Your description is very vague...

I broke it in. normal driving for like 700 or so miles. Oil pressure seems a bit od. But the oil filter is hot. And there is plenty of Oil. I think i have some wireing issues.

But as for the banging. Its only on wide open throttle. if i am on the freeway it wont do it. I thought maybe it could be the flywheel. But i would push in the clutch and let it go. and no change. I took a prybar and checked the flywheel. I didnt notice movement. Its possible its the Tran. i am not sure. I might beable to make a video in HD. But Im not sure if that would cast a light on it.. Almost sounds like the rotor is hitting the inside of the engine.. its just strange ****

The last time I had something similar, it turned out to be a rotor bearing. Did you install new rotor bearings or check the specs, on your rebuild?

Def check the timing.

I remember that happening to mine when cruising and hearing that sound right when i suddenly would gun it. Sorta like a Ball peen hammer hitting a dense metal.
And u can hear it distinct from the normal engine sound.

Did u use the same pulley to Time the engine or did u replace it?

I agree with the timing part. That was the first thing that I suspected when I could hear it in my car. I timed mine many times, changed the CAS, timed it again. I could never hear the noise until I got the revs up.

How is your compression?

I dont know exactly on the compression. Starts up fine when cold now. But strangly always have hard warm starts. it starts slow and speeds up till the engine kicks in.. so the engine wont fire up Right away when warm. it Slowly needs to gain speed. before it will catch
