1991 Without A/C?

1991 Without A/C?
I live in Canada so I don't know if they had different options up here but I just went to buy a 1991 Coupe that had everything, moonroof/sunroof(whichever one it is) which I believe was part of a package so it has that package. But then we press the A/C button and nothing happens. So I ask the owner who's had it for the past 12 years and he said it never had A/C. So I check the forums when I get home and surely enough all 1991 models came standard with A/C.
So what gives?
EDIT: I may as well post other little issues I've noticed with the car and get some opinions on that as well.
The moonroof has a hard time opening, I have to push up on it to get it to open. The rubber seal seems to jam. How can I fix this?
It has electric windows and when they get to about half way down they start to jump or stutter, but still go down all the way. On the way up the are slow and the engine sounds sluggish. Any tips or reasoning?
Thanks to anyone for the help.

If it was broken, just easier to not fix it I guess. Is it completely removed, or is everything still there, but not working?
As for your window problem, take off the door panels, grease the tracks, invest in a wiring kit (crimp terminals, crimper, wire, etc.) and do the window relay mod. Very worth it

I've never owned a coupe Rx7, but I could only imagine putting some silicone lube on the rubber and track will help things move around. I say silicone based lubricant because petroleum based lubes will SWELL the rubber and deteriorate it very quickly.

I didn't even check if it was removed. Would someone be able to show me an engine bay with and without A/C? I may remember which one it looked like. About the windows, I'll definitely do that, I already have all those tools, well my dad does. He has everything LOL. The rubber was VERY VERY dry, so I'll lube her up and come back here with a verdict.

Take a Scotchbrite pad, soak it in WD40 and scrub down the track, inside as well as the outer lips.
Wipe with a clean dry rag, then spray the track with white lithium grease.
Temporarily connect the window switch, run it up and down a few times to confirm that the juddering is gone.
That should do it.

AC compressor is (when looking at the engine) on the right side (driver's) at the bottom. The top one is the power steering pump. So all in all, you should have probably 4 belts (air pump on left, water pump/alternator top, ps top right, ac bottom right). If you want more information about air conditioning, search the forum for a writeup by a member named Jackhild59. He did an excellent job explaining how the system works, and how to convert it to a "safe, cheap, easy refrigerant".
Actually, it's right here:

Congratulations on buying an Rx7. Go buy some tools, forget spending money on anything else

I had an 86 n/a with only 73k kms that got written off last year (see my threads). It was all original, bone stock when I got it, had an A/C button, but no compressor, condenser, evaporator, lines, or anything. And i'm sure it wasn't molested. Also had a 90 n/a that had an A/C button but no A/C too, but that might've been changed. Again, I doubt it.
The S5 vert I drive now has an A/C button... aaand the rest of the system

It also shows in the same thread (https://www.rx7club.com/showpost.php...29&postcount=7) that in 1990 that AirCon was an optional extra for the GTU and 'vert. Hence why your 1990 might not have had it.

Edit: How does one delete a post? I've done it before but for some reason I can't now. o.o

best way tyo tell if it's an original NON ac car is to look @ firewall, pass side, where the hi & low pressure lines would go. factory non-ac cars have rubber plugs filling these 2 spots, to keep air out of cabin/etc. have seen a few non-ac from dealer cars have this- it'd make sense as it's a canadian car.
