1991 non turbo bogs down?
We are new to this forum as well as new to the rotary engines.. Last week we purchased a 91 rx7 conv. non turbo, well anyway we don't see a turbo..Is that a newbie or what..! anyway, the car start beautifully and will sit and idle beautifully, but sometimes upon acceleration it goes boooooooog. When it does, the check engine light immediately comes on. We tried to run codes on it but nothing came up. IThe car doesn't completely die but you have to go to less than half throttle to get it to take gas, kinda pumping it too. If you restart the car and the check engine light does not come on you can accelerate until it does. Runs great when its running... I looked at the archives didn't see anything exactly like this Any ideas Thanks in advance Linda

that's what a non-turbo rx-7 feels like . j/k
Is this bog rpm related, or is it all throttle? Maybe the TPS, also check the AFM, make sure it's not sticking or something. If it's rpm related it might also be the OMP.
Easiest way to do it is to pull codes.

The codes didn't pull. we tried, as soon as the check engine light comes on it bogs... If it doesn't come on it will take gas normal.. runs normal what does RPM related or throttle related mean. It wont take fuel and loses RPMs....Kinda like if a fuel filter was partially clogged and u continued to demand more performance ..that kind of bog. What wire are we supposed to plug into in order to pull the codes ? we used the little black one Right?
