I think OC_ is thinking more along the lines of "If you didn't have an S5, here is the time to pick up the taillights!"

You know these are the kinds of reasons elderly drivers should not be allowed on the roads. Or at the very least the government should give drivers test frequently to people over 70 years of age. This old lady said she dident see a car that was right infront of her>??? WTF? i mean i would believe it shes prob blind and has a drviers liscense. There was a guy on the news a few weeks back that was an 86 year old driver who plowed through a group of people and killed like 10 people. He said he accidently hit the gas pedal insted of the brake.

Sorry to hear about the accident. Some states are thinking of passing laws that require people 70 yrs old and above to go and pass a test every year or two, at the very least test their eyesight and see if they can see. I personally think they sould have to take the written and driving test. This would see if they can think (not senile) and have some coordination (not pressing the gas instead of the brake) Also it is a good idea especially since here in Arizona where we have millions of elderly people living here during the winter. Lots of them get their licenses here because you can get one good for 25 years and that means if they get one when they are 65 its good till the turn 90! Just my 2 cents....

Get some pics up soon!

Dakmis-
Take heart, I noticed my TII had been rear ended and had a nice repair before I bought it and bought it anyways ($1,500).

Mine had a whole new last 6" of rear body patched on, new hatch, bumper and tail lights.

All the suspension is way forward so if it is repaired well you have no problems- just take it to a shop that is KNOWN for its excellent work even if it costs that old lady a bit more.

And if it is a total, sorry

old people really shouldn't be on the road. I can't count the number of times I've had close calls with them. The worst part is they don't even realize what they're doing is wrong. I was on the outside turn lane one time, an old lady was on the inside. The light changed so we went, and she just starts drifting into me. I'm looking back at her like "WTF are you doing!?", she gives me a look like "why are you looking at me?". She came within inches of tapping my rear which would have sent me spinning.

I was sitting at an intersection in the left turn lane waiting for the red arrow to turn green so I could make my turn. As it turns green I proceed only to be cut off, and yelled at by an "old" women making a right turn on the red light. BTW, she even failed to make a full stop!
