1991 FC Vert Automatic transmission problem
So the problem I am having is that the car accelerates slowly up to about 2K rpms and ~20MPH or so....unreasonably so. Once it gets there it revs more freely and accelerates up to about 65MPH at about 5-6K rpms quite nicely.
It does not seem to shift into 2nd or 3rd gear. It revs freely once above 2K but the transmission does not shift. I tried to manually shift as well as hold and shift but nothing...wouldn't go out of 1st.
Park reverse and neutral all work fine....
In neutral it revs freely and cleanly up to 7k redline.
Any ideas? I am afraid the answer is a new tranny but that is not the answer I want! lol
