1990 Gtu.....

I just am wondering if $300 is worth it for a 1990 GTU?

Body- paint faded, dents here and there, hood destroyed, round(hard to find) tail lights...perfect, spoiler broke on one end

Interior- perfect!!!!...except for the fact that it got wet and mold started to grow on it

Engine- disassembled and needs machine work, transmission needs new forks, the 4.3 rearend still intact

just tell me what ya'll think...

1st, the round tail-lights are standard on 89-91 RX-7's
2nd Moldy Interior ISN'T PERFECT
3rd The engine will be at least $600 to fix, more including the machine work
and last, it's has a 4.10 rear-end

Why is the hood destroied?

I got a RUNNING 90' GTU that needs some interior peices, and a paint job for $900, and the consensus is that I got a good deal... take that how you want to.

Personally..... I don't think it's worth it. You'll put another thousand into it before it's how you want. ( Engine, Body, Spoiler, Interior, Hood )

****, for 300 bucks, get it, sell the front/rear bumpers and tail lights, upper/lower intake plenum, OMP, and junk it.. tidy profit too

Then "beyond the redline" is wrong, or you are misreading it. A 1989-1990 GTUs (don't forget the little s, that's the important factor here) has a 4.3:1 LSD diff.

A GTU on the other hand, is just a base-model car with no frills. I would say this one is probably not worth it.
