1988 Vert needs a new top ! Any suggestions or hel please
Does anyone in our group know of a site or shop that sells good quality tops? (other than kwiktops) I have a 1988 vert and need to replace the rrear portion of the top. The targa, glass, seals and headliners are fine. Thanks in advance.

Robbins Tops makes a very good quality top almost identical to original. They ain't cheap though. I've had mine almost 3 years 7/17/06. So far its held up well. If you plan to keep the car I would put a good quality top on. AAA Tops makes a lower budget version.

I'm in the market for a new top also. Before my father bought a vert that's in gorgeous shape and doesn't need any work on the top...well he and I were going to replace both our tops on our 89 and 90 verts.
From my research and advice from people who know better than me, Robbins is the best way to go. I believe other people have had problems with AAAtops. Something about the outer band that fastens the whole top down from door to door along the top of the trunk comes out short on many peoples tops from them.
Jackhilde has a good write-up somewhere.
Once I get my TII swap rebuilt and possibly reswapped into a black vert. I'll start thinking again about tops. From what I've read I'll wait till I have the funds for a Robbins top.
