1988 Vert Engine Removal Hooks

I'm in the process of tearing my engine out and I don't see any mounting points for the hoist, shown in the pictures. Can I use the power steering/ac bracket as a mount point? Or is there something I can grab at a shop of the shelf that'll work?

Do not use anything except the factory supplied anchor points. They are there for a reason. on 13BT's its by the alternator, and by the back left of the UIM. Not 100% sure if they are different on N/A's, as I haven't pulled one of those in awhile, but I don't believe they are. Also, pics aren't showing.

NA locations are the same.

On my engine the rear anchor had vanished, so I moved the front one to the rear and then used the Power steering bracket at the front (through the hole where the power steering pump mounts). I can't recommend this because as mentioned above it isn't intended to be used that way, but I can say that it worked fine for me. Do it at your own risk (or better, don't). It also doesn't hang straight with this arrangement, so getting it back in is a chore.

the engine is really light, the PS bracket works fine. you do want two points, one in the front and one in the back.
no need to remove the hood, just open it all the way, and the engine can come right out.

Thanks guys! I'm going to pull the engine today. If I'm using a 4point load leveler, should I just attach two points to the front and two to the back?
