That has to be with the original purchase of the car brand new, right? I can get you a mint TII(AE or not) with 420rwhp easily for $12,000 without even doing all the work myself. Probably much less if I do everything myself. Plus I'd have to see dyno numbers to believe that number. Sounds like they bought an HKS turbo kit and are just saying they have 420HP.

I have been staring at that car for literally years. Every time I pick up an auto trader or search the online version. About a year ago it was advertised for $21,000. I believe the first time I saw it it was for like $24,000. That was about 2 years ago. Maybe the price will drop again in a year. I seriously doubt it would ever go for more than $12,000.

I believe Mariah sold that car for either $29,000 or $32,000. They might still have the price on their website even though they sold the car already.

That's basically what I'm going to do to mine, but I have no plans on spending anywhere near $35k.

$10k, maybe.

Ideally, I'd like 9.9x (or better) in the 1/4mi, and 1+g on the skidpad. I'd like a wicked in-car entertainment system. I want something I can drive to school daily, and deliver pizza in nightly. It can be done, and if not for $10k, then I'll spend more.

There's no limit to what these cars can do, if you put your mind (and wallet) to it.

omg DROOOL

thats in KW? I'm going to have to see that car sometime....

I'll be back sometime in aug... two 400+hp AEs sitting side by side would be awesome We'll have to see if mine's up to that level by then, but it should be close if it isn't there allready.

You seem to have big turbo dreams. You want to run 9.9xx in the 1/4? Let me know when that starts happening.

I think it's saying that the parts are "cert"ified up to 420hp. How's that for a theory?

9.x is VERY possible with 400+hp and nitrous. Look at all the fds running 9s... its certainly nowhere near impossible.

and yeah, when that starts happening, I'll be more than happy to let you know and take you for a spin.

Not trying to put you down, but like isnt mau's supra one of the fastest stock interior (no weight removal what so ever) imports in alberta? He hasnt even broke into 9s yet.

346rwhp if memory serves me right (which it never does)

And that was on a REALLY weak motor and his hp numbers were well on the rise when the rear rotor puked out a seal (3mm by the way) perfect timing and fuel (he has a wideband) I expect it would have made 400 if it held together, but that's just speculation. He never ran it at the track however.

Terrh is out to lunch on is 9sec 1/4 asspirations, having the horsepower is only a portion of what is needed to run those times. Mau's supra is a great example, 700+rwhp and runs 11's. Soul Assasin said he ran 9's but look at how much he put into suspension, he had custom everything. I can't see a 400hp 2nd gen running 9's. It will need more jam and a ton of suspension work, not to mention the size of rubber you would need, taking into the account the stock wheel wells would need to be modified.

By the way the ad reads I would assume the components are capable of producing 420hp but that would be in a race only setup with the timing, fuel curve and boost at a level that would make everyday street driving a real pain in the ***.

9's would be tough with 420hp in a full bodied rex. If they gutted it out and ran slicks it may squeek into the 9's.
