1986 Fc Starts for a few seconds at high rpm but then cuts out .
Hi
I am extremely new to rotary ownership and using this site so if this answer has already been answered feel free to link me
My problem is that my 1986 fc starts for a few seconds and revs high but cuts out after a few seconds , before I found somewhere that it could be the fuel filter might be the problem but I have since replaced it and the problem is still present .
Any advice or ideas on the problem would be appreciated .
Thanks .

Is your car the US/Japan version with a Crank Angle Sensor or the European version which has a Distributor? This sounds like a dying Air Flow Meter, but I am not sure if the more common US/Japanese ones will work properly on a European spec car due to the ECU being different (N323 for S4NA)
