1986 FC Jumper under coil

I found a connector under the leading coil that has a jumper installed. Just wondering what it is and if it should be there. Thanks!

Could it be the diagnostic connector:

I tried to add a picture but it doesn't seem to be uploading. Its a black connector with a blue connector with the jumper, its not the green diagnostic connector. Thanks!

If it's the one I'm thinking of, it's a jumper for the starter circuit. It's designed so that when unplugged the car doesn't start (I assume so somebody could install an aftermarket immobilizer there, I can't speak to the motivations). Unplug it and try to start the car to find out.

If its the black single connector, its just a 12v check connector. Nothing plugs into it.

That would make perfect sense, looks like its always been there. I'll give your suggestion a try. Thank you!
