Just an update, today we cranked the car and it ran with the fuel pump connected but only while the AFM was disconnected. Also, for the first time, the noid lights wired to our primary injectors were dim. It also was running at 52PSI fuel pressure. When we connected the AFM, the noid lights turned bright and the engine died. With the AFM connected, the engine will not run with the fuel pump connected.

Anyone have any ideas? lol. Thanks!

W/key to on check the voltage on the Brown/White wire which supplies Vref voltage of 5 volts. If the reading is 0 volts then the AFM is likely shorting out.

Thanks we're getting 5 volts going into the AFM but shouldn't we be getting voltage form the AFM to the ECU like a signal wire? Which wire sends the signal? Thanks, these Mazda diagrams are a pain in the butt.

We're tried both a n332 and Japanese n318 I believe. its the factory wiring harness out of a JDM S4 turbo automatic with 2 TPS.

Pretty sure thats your problem. You need to use the USDM Harness if youre using the USDM ECU, and vice versa. Get a second opinion first, but im pretty sure.

Also i dont even think you can use the jspec harness with your other harnii (sp?). The pinouts are different.
