You are talking about swapping your S5 Turbo II Engine for a 13B RE Cosmo engine. I have heard that oil cooling line modifications need to be done. But I dont know of any real gains due to the fact that you cant run the Twin Turbo set up in your FC...you would have to convert to a single setup. Are you planning on running your stock turbo or an upgraded one?

The power level is going to change, the ports are ******* huge compared to any other rotary motor.

Yeah I dont think it would be worth it to try and run the twin setup either. Does the RE have better exhaust ports and the better Corner Springs and stronger dowels?

You know, people always mention that running twins in sequence with the FD engine or 13bRE or even the 20B. I mean if you want a stock good power system, just keep the stock ECU from that particular engine type!!!!
Personally, if I just had the RE engine, I'd keep the stock turbos in sequence for a nice and strong torque curve. If I wasn't looking for crazy assed power, and came across an RE engine for not to much more than a TII engine, then keep the stock ECU for that engine and wire her up.

To be done without being a huge total pain in the ***, you need a fuel management system, different turbo, and a front mount intercooler.

So basically what would this entire swap cost to be done right? With the actual price of the engine and labor of the conversion and a front mount, standalone, and upgraded turbo? I know no one knows the EXACT amount but a Ballpark figure would be FINE. Thanks
Mike

Eh, I was close. I got the motor before everyone was looking at them, so mine was about 2500.

This has been covered many times before. Try searching for "cosmo swap" or "rew swap" or variations on that theme. Also check the Other Engine Conversions forum.

Long story short, it's a major pain in the ***. Mounts don't line up, for one thing. I think that ReTED also has a writeup on his site as well.
