13b 6 port n/a with turbo question

I have a 89 non turbo 6 port 13b with a fresh rebuild and streetport. I have a blowthrough edelbrock carb setup. t3/t4 turbo trust wastegate sard bov and a front mount intercooler. I was wondering how much boost it could handle safely and how much I could run it up to at like the track.

Hey, Im practically doing the same thing right now, I have a '89 with a streetported low mileage motor and im turboing it over the next few weeks. Im sticking with fuel injection though. I was advised that I would be fine if I just kept it in the 12lb range and tuned it properly. Im sure more boost is totally possible but Im just staying on the safer side so my car will last until my other project is finished.

HAHA your attempt at sounding genius backfired due to your faulty common sense meter...

Tweakgames isn't an idiot. He was saying that trying to run a turbocharger is inferior and your goals will not be reached unless you use standalone, as in ditch the carb.

Yea its impossible to run a turbo setup without a standalone and crazy fuel system that costs $2000 + dollars. That was my attempt in letting him know that I didnt ask **** about the fuel system I only asked about what boost I could run with my setup. I have seen plenty of blow through carb setups work awesome regaurdless of how good a standalone would work. If you dont want to help me dont post. These forums are here for information not for people like you to talk trash thankyou very much.

damn i was going to say i have run anywhere from 12 - 18psi on pump gas with many blow-thru rotaries... but maybe i was dreaming?

don't let the people who haven't actually done it sway you away from anything buddy.

if you want to stay on the safer side then keep it around 12psi... but being a carb setup you will be ok stepping it up a bit since the fuel will also be helping aid in the cooling dept through the manifold. my main concern is that you are running a T3 hotside which is not only going to be a little bit of a choke but could make things hot.

just be careful and run your timing locked around 12 degrees for now until you get the hang of it. baby steps!!!!!!!!!

ENJOY
