my question is simple... will the starter from a 12a bolt up to and work in a 13 bt...
also, though i doubt it, will the transmission do the same???

edit: i forgot to add... will the shifter off the standard transmission work in my 13bt tranny?

The 12a starter won't work in a T2 tranny.

The 12a tranny will bolt up and work with a T2 engine but you need to change the T2 flywheel to a 12a aftermarket flywheel and add the T2 rear counterweight.

Also, mounting the 12a tranny will be custom work and you'll need a new driveshaft with the 12a spline count not the T2 spline count.

I would highly suggest NOT using a 12a tranny in a T2 as it won't last very long--in addition to being very expensive to do (flywheel, counterweight, driveshaft, custom mount...).

Alot of this info is available over in the 1st gen section.

I'd get a J-spec T2 tranny and be done with it.
