10th anv. VS TII
lol, he actually had the ***** to send me a PM asking for help with his car after trying to tell me "i bet ur car isnt running..."
well the car wasn't running til i tossed a rear iron and drove it 1200 miles round trip to sevenstock without even testing my work to be sure it would be ok, if i can't trust work on my own car i wouldn't be able to sleep at night when people coming to pick their cars up have to drive hundreds of miles back home.

Awwwwww, thanks. Nobodies ever been that nice to me before.
j/kP.S. 10thAE still = fat
what is the specific weight difference between the 10AE and the Turbo II? i thought they were both about 2900lbs.... at that, it could be only a small amount of poundage difference. i could be wrong, thats why i'm, kinda throwing this out there.
thats a decent difference. 150lbs is a bit for a car with weight specs of the 7. does the AE get its weight from the interior alone? i cant see where the 10AE and the TII are different in terms of weight other than the interior. unless the glass is heavier in the AE...

Mine has one, so i assumed that all 10th AE did.

Things like leather, headlight washers and pumps, extra plush carpet and interior Ultra Sonics for the alarm, and things like that.
All those extra things like badges, Headlight washer fluid, extra wiring, CD, Premium sound system add up to about 100 lbs heavier than the standard S4 Turbo. Because of this Road and Track Reported a wet 10th AE in their testing to be 3050 lb.
Now remember despite many people claims, the normal wet (full of gas/oil/fluids) S4 Turbo weighed right around 2960 (Road & Track and Motor Trend). The low 2800 number was for the original test of the S4 RX-7 GT, a model not even sold in the USA (and basicly a Sport with the Turbo Drive line, seats, and wheels).
And that base model weight of 2625 lb number was a fully wet (full of gas/oil/fluids) and road driven 86 GXL w/cloth interior that Motor Trend tested back in late '85. Intresting that the weight of a fully loaded wet (full of gas/oil/fluids) GXL when tested by Performance Car was 2651lbs.

with all that said, remember that fluids weigh around 8lbs per gallon (water is 8.33, gas is less oil is more) So this means a full tank weighs as much as your girlfriend (OK maybe her ideal weight). Moral is dont put your car on a diet then fill your tank to race. A trick used around here is to have a switch that makes your guage read full so you can negotiate a better starting position.
A stock 10th AE has 24 lbs of washer fluid when full!! (1 gallon each: windshield, rear window, and headlight washer). Mine has 0 lbs of fluid and -15 lbs of hardware for washer wiper systems.
