I have an issue where the lights don't come up (I think its the relay) and they only come on for like 30 seconds (Once again, probably a relay). The previous owner has wires running from the relay, to the battery, up to the dash with alligator clips. Its a cheap fix and works, but I want them running like good again.

Err.. Thats on my headlights.

As for your tail and dash lights, check the lighting fuses, then either try and find out which wire goes to what and see if they work at all. I am guessing its the same issues with the switches being crappy on the lights. Easiest is to either resolder or get a new one from what I have read the past few days.

Covered in the FAQ for FC sticky thread found at the top of this, the 2nd Gen RX-7 technical section. https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-generation-specific-1986-1992-17/frequently-asked-questions-2nd-generation-rx-7-faq-fc-494667/ PLEASE READ the FAQ for FC sticky thread before posting. Many of the commonly asked questions (such as the one you stated this thread with) are answered there.

Probably a burnt switch or light switch harness. There is no resoldering to fix the switch.

I do have rebuilt headlight switches available on my webstore.

My fuse is fine..... and yes I do have a aftermarket stereo....

So I just need to replace the light switch and the harness?

So this would be just the wire from the switch back to where?

Please explain how to remove switch and harness....

Also about your ones for sale please let me know if you sell to Canada and payments please.

well as covered in the FAQ for FC you really need to check the back of the switch first, just to see if it is burnt. No sense replacing it if it is not burnt and just unplugged or some other issue.

If it is burnt, you will need to replace the switch and harness. The Harness you would get from a mazda dealer. If you get a switch from my webstore it automaticly converts to Canadian dollars when you pay.

yes you can get the harness from an auto wrecker.

the harness is the connectors and wires that plug into the switches. you just have to trace it back, there are a total of 3 connectors for the harness. you only need to check one connector though, and thats the one on the back of the headlight switch.

to remove, you gotta take out the instrument cluster housing.
to remove the switch, use a small screwdriver and pry the ***** off. then take off the screws that hold in the switch. the connector that plugs into the back of that switch is connector#1 of 3 for the harness, the turn signal connector is #2, these are clearly visible when you take this apart.

if you need to replace the harness, all you gotta do is trace it back and disconnect the last connector.

anyone please correct me if any info is incorrect.

Alright well I am going to see if I can get a used switch and harness....

How do I know if mine really is bad?

I mean my fuse is not blown but I do not have dash or tail lights....

Is there anyway to wire them on anywhere else? Like so I atleast have tail lights til I fix this problem???

Does anyone know the retail from Mazda on these parts?

Or the average repair costs of these parts ?

to see if its bad, like icemark said, inspect to see if the harness is burnt. if it just looks slightly discolored, you may be able to save it. mine went out before, and when i pulled it out, some wires and part of the connector was discolored. i was able to fix it with icemarks write-up in the 2cd gen archive. i think it was called heavy duty light switch.

but inspect whats wrong with yours to determine the action needed.

Just so you don't confuse anyone... Because your post does not related to anything here in this thread.

Yellow is not a Mazda color for the dash and tail lights. Yellow does not control the CD player power either. The Dash (dimmer controlled wire) light is a red/green wire. The parking lights are Red/Black. The power into the headlight switch for the parking and dash lights (from the fuse) is White/Green.

So maybe you mean the aftermarket radio's wires (for what ever reason) No, most aftermarket radio's use standard ISO colors (except the crappy ones from china). In ISO colors the yellow would be the battery lead and hooked up to the constant power at the back of the radio on the (which would be the Blue/Red).
