is 10psi on stock injectors and turbo too much even with a walbro 255? reason i'm asking is i'm trying to figure out what to have my high boost set at right now on my boost controller.

I would say that would be fine! do you have an fcd??? also you may want to rewire your fuel pump

10psi on the stock injectors and an upggraded pump is fine. The trick is keeping it from going over 10psi...

As far as I'm concerned, 10psi with a stock fuel pump is just peachy keen. For some reason I don't have the lean conditions others experience on this forum. Got me as to why.

IMHO you have more to fear with the 200 degree plus intercooler intake temps with a stock intercooler (yeah, I know, flood the thing with fuel to overcome the temps....which I'll say is a bullshit way of overcoming the temps).

So true. And yet when you suggest a FMIC for a mildy-modded car people bleat about them not being necessary or not worth the money...

The FMIC was the first mod I put on my, at-the-time mildly modded, car b'c I knew It was fundamental to what I was trying to achieve. If more members followed the basic hierarchy of progressive mods, there would be far more reliable FC's out there. ie. FMIC > upgraded FP > FI's > Turbo

Or do It right and get a standalone EMS (latter point Is dependant on what you really want out of your FC).

Aww, I too believe in the hierarchy as you worded it. And I also believe in proper maintenence. But you are right not as many people out there do. Give you an example I HAVE a t4/t3 turbo. Have I installed it? NO! why? Cause everything else, ie: injectors, fuel managment, FMIC, isnt in place yet.

i do have a FCD and i do have the fuel pump rewired. i've also got my WG ported so that both holes are 27mm. i don't get ANY creep, even in 5th gear at WOT on the highway.

It's funny how people list the FCD like its a safety mod, when it's quite the opposite...

well I said fcd because you need the fcd to go above 8.6psi and he wants to putsh 10psi so that is kind of a nessesaty in his case

i actually ran 10psi on a large streetport (kevin landers porting) engine and was in the high 12's AFR's in the midrange. it WAS on a 90* day (and the ac was broke inside the dyno shop) with a starion FMIC and a walbro.

however my fuel filter has NEVER been changed in 180k miles so i think this could be a problem for my fuel situation...

my car feels damn strong at 10psi on this motor. it actually feels stronger then 15psi on the last motor. i guess thats the difference in great compression and poor compression. can't wait to get an SAFC and tune it some with some larger 2nd-aries.

Derek,

My TII has been running between 12-14psi with stock primaries and 680cc secondaries with a Walbro 255 and an SAFC since I've owned it. No problems to speak of what so ever. Just thought I'd throw that in there.

WOW, I hope you changed it since!! I change my once a year - if you haven't done it, get to pep boys and pick one up. It can be a messy job, but it doesn't take long. Dude, 180K and 14 years = no good hehe

i'm a little confused by your post. i have changed the fuel filter about 4 months ago and i had my injectors professionally cleaned and balanced by RC Engineering 1 month ago. pretty much, like Zach said, if i get an SAFC and some larger 2nd-aries i'll be able to safely boost 12-14psi.
