10AE headlight washers

DAMNATION!!! I finally found a thing wrong with the 'mint condition 10AE'....

As I was screwing around with it tonight, playing with all the toys it came with, I tried the headlight washers/sprayer and nothing.. No sound of a motor trying to pump and spray the water, no nothing!

Anyways, checked the fluid level, completely full... Is there a fuse for the washers? Or do you think the motor is shot? Any suggestions?

filter in the headlight washer tank is probably dirty or clogged.

That is the tank next to the leading coils, you know.

I've wondered, where'd they put the switch for the headlight washers?

Yeah, you know on the left side of the dash, the **** that can make you turn your headlights up and down without turning them on? On AEs you push that in.

Yeah, tank under the driver's side headlamp. I assume the filter as at the bottom of the tank near the pump, correct?

Thanks,
Michael

The Cdn TII's and GXL's had the headlight sprayers, not just the 10AE's. Only time I have ever used them is to flip up the headlights and then ask someone to bend down to look if the lights are on.

Pop-up lights don't get nearly as dirty as fixed ones, so I don't know why Mazda bothered.

I'd love to have the reservior though. It'd be perfect for an IC sprayer.

Pop up headlights are bug catchers. I wish I would have had those things on those long drives at night on alligator alley. There straight forward square design would get hit by anything.

For AE specific parts:

bronze glass
Tails
Wing
headlight squirters and related equipment
AE embossed steering wheel

in a month or two, im going to be selling the shell. no interior or anything. no drivetrain. just the body )good shape but needs paint) with suspension.

If interested in something listed here, PM me. If I have not listed it, then I do not have it or am not selling it.

No more than fixed headlights, or any other part of the car for that matter.

I used my headlight washers a grand total of 5 times in 6 years. Once to wash of the remains of a bird that I hit with the headlight up - and the other 4 to soak people walking by.

The headlight washer resevoir is about twice the size of the windshield washer resevoir (go figure). So I ripped the windshield washer resevoir out and rewired/replumbed the system so that when I press the windshield washer button, it takes the fluid from the Headlight washer resevoir. I then used all that empty space on the passenger side for my CAI.

BTW - put some power directly to the motor and see what happens. Because all this is controled by the headlight switch - you might find that it is the switch that is the problem.

Alright, where is the motor in relations to the resevoir? And where would it plug into?

I turned out the nozzles on my 10AE and I can now spray people with their windows down when they get next to me on the road. It's pretty funny cause they have no idea where it came from.
If you want, you could even take out the resevoir and the motor to the headlight washer cause you really don't need it and it weighs like 15-20 pounds. The whole assembly is HUGE.

Alright, tried to find the motor... fuse, you name it and I came up with nothing. Can anybody tell me where the headlight sprayer pump/motor is located and/or the fuse for it? Thanks.
