Besides, its much more fun to lose 'em in the turns, rather than showing off how "mAd quIck" you shift....

Yeah i dunno about texas but here in the NW the N/A will take almost every civic no problem. If your runnin good compression and tuned up you rip thru 1st gear in like 2 secs gaining a good lead, in 2nd you hold your lead, in 3rd you walk away...

If your not looking for track worthy performance but just a quick car to cruze in, the NA is a great car. If your thinking about actually competing with real tuner cars than you need a turbo. IMHO 15s 1/4 mile = Pretty Fun 13s = Thrilling. a 15 second car is not considered slow by the average person.

There are actually some serious civics in the Houston, people boosting SOHC and making like 400+ HP and running like mid twelves w/ radials. On the less fast end there are a great number of B16 and B18 swaps that even with mild bolt-ons are cutting low 14s one street tires, I hardly ever run into a plain civic or a plain anything. Where I'm at there's fast as hell and not worth toying with, not very much of a happy medium.

Yeah their are definately fast hondas out there my friend has an accord with a prelude engine swap and like every external engine mod, suspension, clutch, tranny, and hours of tuning. he is doing 13.4 which is really fast imo. He has spent tens of thousands of dollars on his car. If your gonna try and compete with that kind of car you need turbo, or you'll really just be wastin your money with moding the N/A.

95% of the hondas around here with aftermarket exaust and ricey body kits do not have that kind of engine work, and will be overcome by my N/A 7. But it boils down to money once you start talking about serious tuning for the rx7, modding a N/A beyond a certain point becomes a money pit for a car that doesnt have nearly the potential as its big brother. The N/A is not slow as many turbo drivers claim it is, its just not what they're used too, and its not what they're looking for from a car (track performance).

I love my NA but im not gonna spend money to be competitive with it that could be put towards the right turboII (I know your out there!)

http://fc3spro.com/TECH/MODS/mods.html <--start there, if it applies to the N/A, you can do it...

...if you haven't already, you can replace the stock airbox/filter with a 2.5" cone filter (I believe, may want to double check that size), however you will need to fab. some kind of heat shield to protect it from underhood heat.

You can also remove the second set of butterfly valves in the throttle body (I can't see cold starts being much of a concern in texas )
Exhausts are good, although if you are thinking of swapping engines, I don't know how much you are going to want to invest in headers...
Also get yourself a tuneup (or do the full tuneup as recommended in the FSM), and make sure your 6-ports are working...

The most important thing to remember though is this: even if you get your *** handed to you by a punk in a civic, one of you is driving a sportscar, the other is driving a family car... no matter how much money they put into the civic, and how fast it goes in a straight line, it'll never be a sportscar

NOS is a brand name that is accepted to refer to nitrous oxide. Its been this way for over 30 years. Kind of like Kleenux refers to all brands of facial tissue, or Xerox refers to all brands of photocopiers, or windex refers to all ammonia based glass cleaners.

ive pretty much decided im going turbo over time. but im going to mod my NA all year until i get money for my turbo early next year maybe. still researching what all i can do on the NA that i can keep when i get the TII. the exhaust and the porting is what im having trouble with finding a lil more info on. im still not sure what i can port now and still use on the TII.

Unfortunately, not much transfers over, unless you plan on just slapping a turbo onto a NA block... Otherwise, i think the only thing that could stay the same would be a cat-back exhaust, and maybe a cat replacement straight pipe... oh, and the cone filter intake... the rest is pretty much NA / Turbo specific...

However, you can spend some money on drivetrain improvement - tires/wheels/brakes and suspension... ..that can all transfer over...
